How far is Lagos?
Just 10 min by car (5km), or 15 min on a bike!
Do we need a car?
A car is strongly recommended, both for arriving to the cottage and for getting around more easily. There is good local public transport, plus Uber and other car services using a simple GPS reference.
Arrivng from Faro Airport? Or travelling east? Here's how:
It’s about 90km. There are Uber and other car services to the Cottage, frequent rapid buses (https://www.flixbus.com/bus/portugal ; https://vamusalgarve.pt/#/pt/vamus%20algarve/routes) to downtown Lagos (also cars available for rent in town), or directly by car on the toll-free A22 highway or scenic N125 highway. Lagos has a train station (https://www.cp.pt/passageiros/en) if you want to head East to Spain, for example.
Emergency services?
Lagos has both a private and public hospital plus good private and public health centres. A larger hospital is in Portimão, about 20 min drive.
